Always use safety glasses.
INSTALLATION
1. Using a modified thin-set mortar with a flexible acrylic additive, apply the mixture of notch trowel (typically 3/16" x 3/16" V-notch). Spread only enough adhesive as needed since the tile needs to be covered within 15 minutes.
2. Back-butter each piece of tile with the flat edge of the trowel. Be sure to achieve full coverage on the back of the tile in order to avoid the notch marks in the thin set from showing through the glass.
3. Carefully press the glass into the thin set mixture leaving even spacing between tiles. Use 1/8" spacers to ensure even spacing. Allow movement for joints where the tile abuts restraining surfaces and around the perimeter of the installation.
4. Grout with a non-sanded grout to prevent scratching after the adhesive has had proper time to dry.
CUTTING
Use a wet saw with a diamond blade designed for cutting glass. A ceramic tile or marble cutter is not recommended. It is important to use the proper blade because blades designed for ceramic/marble tile will chip the glass. If possible, cut edges should be placed in corners where they can be hidden.
DRILLING
The glass tile must be securely clamped into place to prevent movement of the tile during the drilling process. When drilling, keep the bit and hole lubricated to prevent chipping.
1. Use sand paper to remove sharp areas of the glass.
2. Drill from both ends of the tile. Starting with the back, drill half the depth of the tile.
3. Turn the tile over and drill the remaining half of the tile. This will prevent chips or breaks in the glass tile.
CLEANING
Use a non-abrasive glass cleaner to prevent scratching the tile.
Please inspect your tile at the time of purchase. We are not responsible for any shortages or damages occurring to the tile after purchase. We are also not responsible for any negligence of installation of the tile.
